Founders

Linda M. Farmer, RPR, CRR, Linda began her reporting career in 1971 in San Antonio, Texas. In 1976 she moved to Washington, D.C., where she reported committee hearings for the U.S. Senate as well as Presidential speeches and interviews for the Carter White House. After moving to Boston, her reporting included the highly technical hearings of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities as well as depositions in patent and other technical litigation.

Linda is a Certified LiveNote Trainer and has designed and presented seminars for attorneys and their support staff on the effective use of realtime in depositions. She is the author of a technical manual on reporting software. She has also conducted workshops to teach reporters how to best utilize their reporting software.

As of 2010, Linda has officially retired from FAB and day-to-day management but remains a consultant to the firm.

David A. Arsenault, RPR, David has been a reporter since 1985. His work has included technical litigation concerning patent infringement, contract disputes, medical devices, and industrial processes. He also reports technical hearings at the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and the Energy Facilities Siting Board. Much of David’s work has included realtime and next-day delivery. He trains both reporters and attorneys on the effective use of realtime.

David received a B.Mus. from the Longy School of Music/Emerson College in 1976. He received his reporter training at Mass. Bay Community College. In addition to managing FAB and reporting, David spends as much time as possible pursuing his love of classical music.

Alan H. Brock, RDR, CRR, Alan began reporting in 1981 in Beaumont, Texas. When he moved to Boston and began taking the complex hearings at the Department of Public Utilities, he quickly became known as one of the best reporters in Boston. Shortly after beginning to compete in the National Court Reporters Association’s speed contests in the late ‘90s, he gained national recognition as one of the best reporters in the country.

Alan was the champion of the 2003 Speed Contest and has won medals for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in many segments of other national and state speed contests. In both the 2010 and 2009 National Court Reporter Association Speed Contest Alan took 3rd place in the overall contest.

From the inception of FAB in 2000, Alan has developed and presented numerous workshops focused on helping other reporters increase and sharpen their reporting skills. In 2003 Alan chose to relinquish ownership in FAB in favor of returning to full-time reporting as an independent contractor. He actively reports for FAB and remains one of FAB’s top reporters.

Alan is a 1979 graduate of Oberlin College, with a B.A. in government, and Oberlin Conservatory, with a B.Mus. in piano performance.
